On behalf of Parish Youth Leaders we would like to say a huge ‘Thank-you’ to all those who participated in the Parish Summer Camp. We had a truly memorable and inspiring week; filled with lots of fun and laughter, our faith was nourished and special friendships formed.
Activities included: Fitness Freddie; craft; Dance Academy; African drumming; cake decorating; puppet making and a unique puppet show, intertwined with special moments of prayer and faith formation.
To the 50 children you were GREAT! a pleasure to work with and you made our week.
We had 20+young adult helpers, many completing the Pope John Paul II award, without your help we could not have offered the camp. You were exceptional; an excellent role model for the children and no job was too much.
Thanks to Bishop Mc Areavey for his visit on Friday; to Canon Brown and the Priests of the Parish for their support and their prayers at the 10.30am Mass.
Also thanks to Diocesan Youth Director, Frances Mc Nally, for her support
To the Parish office staff and Mary in the Youth Ministry office, thank you for accepting enquires and registrations. Sincere thanks to Pauline Mc Govern and her team who facilitated our camp in the Parish Centre.
The success of the week doesn’t happen by chance; it requires meticulous planning and a great commitment of time and energy from us as volunteer Parish Youth Leaders. If you would like to build on the success of Youth Ministry in the Parish and have time / skills to offer, be it ‘hands on’ working directly with young people or ‘behind the scenes’ in fundraising etc. We would love to hear from you, please contact the Parish Office.
