Safeguarding Awareness is an evolving area and is continuously being improved throughout the Church. We all strive together, clergy and laity to ensure that our safeguarding policies and procedures inform and support the very important work within our Parish. As part of the “Safeguarding Process”, all volunteers in the Parish are required to undertake Safeguarding Awareness sessions.
Safeguarding Awareness is a continual process, it is there to assist, strengthen and enrich the work of all, especially our volunteers. As part of the training and induction process all new volunteers taking up a position within the parish must attend a Safeguarding Awareness session, and any current volunteers currently working in ministry within the parish may attend the Safeguarding Awareness session as a refresher opportunity also.
The next session will be held on Wednesday 28th August at 7:00 p.m. in Newry Parish Centre, The Mall. The session will last for one hour approximately.
