Donate a Poinsettia plant to decorate Newry Cathedral for Christmas- New for 2022!

Newry Cathedral from Saturday 3rd December
You are invited to play your part in creating a magnificent Christmas display in the cathedral sanctuary. Simply buy a Poinsettia plant (these are inexpensive and widely available) and bring it along to the parish office (opposite the cathedral) during office hours (9am ‒ 4pm Monday to Friday) or to the sacristy after Mass. The shape of the Poinsettia flower resembles the Star of Bethlehem, the red leaves remind us of Christ’s Blood, shed for our salvation, white leaves remind us of Christ’s purity and the green symbolises life and hope. Play your part in creating a very special display in the cathedral for our Christmas celebration.
