Aine
Praised for her ‘natural acting coming from genuine musicality’ (Edinburgh Reporter), Irish mezzo-soprano Áine Cassidy is forging an impressive career on both the opera and concert platform.
Between 2017-20, Áine was a member of Edinburgh Studio Opera under the baton of eminent conductor William Conway. With the company, she made her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the role of Mrs Scot (The Tumbling Lassie). She also covered the roles of Mamma Lucia (Cavalleria Rusticana) and Olga (Eugene Onegin), and played Dalila (Samson et Dalila) in a scenes concert.
Áine has also enjoyed success as a concert soloist, working with the Edinburgh University Music Society Chorus for performances of Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle and Haydn’s The Creation.
Áine is currently studying for her MMus degree at the TU Conservatoire, under the tutelage of Colette McGahon Tosh. She holds a Licentiate Diploma in Music Performance from Trinity College London. Áine is currently a member of the Sestina Early Music Ensemble’s Next Generation Programme.
Eoin
Eoin Cassidy is a multi instrumentalist from County Down. He is currently reading Music at the University of Manchester, where his principal study is trumpet. As an organist, Eoin has enjoyed success at both Feis Ceoil, where he was awarded the Sarah Cooper Cup, and Newry Musical Feis. Eoin studied organ with Mr James Murphy and Dr. Gerard Gillen. He has given recitals at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh and St Mary’s Church, Burren.
