Goodbye to Fr. Wojciech and Fr. John

Newry CathedralNews

Fr. Wojciech Stachyra (SCHr) has been given a new appointment in Dublin by his Congregation of the Society of Christ Fathers, Poland. He will take up this appointment on the 6th September. We thank Fr. Wojciech for his work in the parishes of Newry & Saval for the past three years, for his friendship, his wit and sense of fun. We wish him every blessing in his new appointment and many happy years in the Diocese of Dublin.

We are also saying goodbye to Fr. John Anih who is a member of the Missionary Society of St. Paul. He joined us at the beginning of January this year and is leaving us on the 12th September to take up an appointment in his native Nigeria. We thank him for his presence with us and for fitting into the parish community in such a short period. The parishioners are grateful to him for saying the 8.15am Mass during Lent. We wish him every blessing in his new appointment and thank him for his work with us in Newry & Saval parishes.
